Not long ago, based on thoughtful reasoning and evaluation of my values, I decided I wanted more than a job to survive, which is what I’ve had up to now. I wanted to do something meaningful and productive, I wanted to promote the value of hard work and be self-sufficient. But I needed specific and marketable skills to reach any of those desires. Farming came to me as a way to learn a valuable trade and make sure my values were satisfied. This experience is the beginning of something I haven’t even imagined yet. I have long term goals, but I’m really just letting this take me where it’s going to take me.
I hope you find this an interesting and informative account of my time farming in western Washington. Please feel free to comment and ask questions about anything you read. I’m happy to go into more depth on things as I learn about them and as you feel the desire to know more.
I have not attempted to embellished this blog with fancy writing or overwhelming facts and statistics. My goal in creating this page is to simply tell what I’m doing over the next seven months. I think it would be cool to have a fancy creatively written account of my time here, but I simply don’t want to take the time at this point.
